Dentistry..but why??

We have seen people running towards medical colleges without considering what dentistry has to offer. In India, career in dentistry is always an option for students who gets disqualified for medical colleges.

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.



Dentists are professionals trained specifically for diagnosing and treating diseases of oral cavity. Dental profession offers a lot variety of scopes once you complete your degree. They instruct patients on how to take care of their teeth and gums. It involves restoration of teeth, fracture of jaws, surgeries related to teeth.  As a dentist you have the opportunity to build up the confidence of your patients, improve their overall health and potentially even save their lives.  For example, many of us are not aware that infections such as cancer show their first sign in oral cavity in the form of tumors. So in such situations dentist play a  major role in diagnosing such life threatening diseases.


One person walks into your office and you relieve them of pain. the next one you create a beautiful smile. the next one you give them teeth they haven’t had in years ans so on. 


Furthermore there are recognized specialities for those who want to specialise after BDS degree.   The American Dental Association (ADA) recognized nine different specialized dental fields which we will talk about next week.
